Saint Alkmund of Northumbria, also known as Alcmund, Alchmund, Alcumundus, and Ealhmund, was born in 774 in northern England. He hailed from royal lineage, being the son of King Alcred of Northumbria. Following the tragic murders of his father and his brother Osred, Alkmund ascended to the throne and became the King of Northumbria....
