Saint Andrew Avellino, also known as Andrea Avellino, Lancelotto, and Lorenzo Avellino, was born in Castronuovo, Sicily in 1521. As a young man, he pursued his studies in humanities and philosophy in Venice, Italy. Following this, he earned a Doctorate in civil and ecclesiastical law. At the age of 26, Andrew was ordained into the priesthood. He began working as a lawyer at the ecclesiastical court in Naples, Italy....
