Saint Anthony of Lérins, also known as Antony of Lérins or Anthony the Hermit, was born around the year 468 in Valeria, Lower Pannonia, which is in modern-day Hungary. His father passed away when he was only eight years old, and he was then raised by Saint Severinus of Noricum for several years. However, tragedy struck again as Severinus died while Anthony was still in his early teens....
