Saint Athanasius of Modon, also known as Athanasius of Sicily, was born in the year 826 in Catania, Sicily. At a young age, he witnessed the invasion of Sicily by the Saracens, who unleashed severe persecutions against Christians. Fearing for his life, Athanasius decided to flee and sought refuge in the city of Patras in Greece....
