Saint Augustine Tchao, also known as Augustin Rong Zhao, Augustinus Zhao, or Augustine Zhao Rong, was born around 1746 in Wuchuan, Guizhou, China. Little is known about his early life or family background, but it is believed that he had a military career as a soldier before encountering Christianity. At the time, China was relatively closed off to foreign influence, including Christian missionaries....
