Saint Barbara, also known as Barbe, was a legendary Catholic Saint who lived during the 3rd century in Nicomedia, now modern-day Turkey. Although her story is considered legend, her hagiography has become widely popular among Catholics. According to the tale, Barbara was a beautiful young maiden who was imprisoned in a high tower by her father, Dioscorus, as a punishment for her disobedience....
