Saint Benedict of Aniane, also known as Benedict of Anian, Euticius, Witiza, or the Second Benedict, was born in Languedoc, France around the year 747. He was the son of Aigul, Count of Maguelone, and was born into a Visigothic family. Benedict received a prestigious education at the court of Pepin, where he excelled in his studies....
