Saint Benignus of Armagh, also known as Benignus of Ireland or Benen, was born as the son of the Irish chieftain Sesenen in County Meath. He lived during the 5th century and is primarily known for his close association with Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. Benignus was baptized by Saint Patrick and became one of his most devoted disciples....
