Saint Edmund of East Anglia, also known as Edmund the Martyr, was a remarkable figure in both the religious and political history of England. Born around 841, probably in Nuremberg, Germany, he ascended to the throne of East Anglia at the tender age of 14. He was crowned on Christmas Day 855 by Bishop Saint Humbert of Elmham, receiving the responsibility of ruling his people with justice and dedication....
