Saint Eigil of Fulda, also known as Aegil, Aegilius, Aeigil, Aeigilus, Aigil, Egil, Eygil, Fiegil, or Figil, was born around the year 750 into the Bavarian nobility. He was fortunate to be the nephew of Saint Sturmi of Fulda, a highly respected and influential figure in the monastic community.
