Saint Giovanni Battista Piamarta, also known as Johnannes Baptist Piamarta or John the Baptist Piamarta, was born into a poor family on 26 November 1841 in Brescia, Italy. Sadly, his mother passed away when he was just nine years old, and as a result, Giovanni grew up in the slums, receiving a rudimentary education. Fortunately, his religious maternal grandfather became his mentor during this difficult time....
