Saint Girald of Fontenelle, also known as Gerardus, Giraldus, Girard, Giraud, and Giralda, was born in the late 10th century near Mantes in the Seine Valley of France. Not much is known about his early life, but he embarked on a path of rigorous religious education at the cathedral school in Rheims, France....
