Saint Gunthiern was a Welsh prince who, according to historical documents, decided to forsake his privileged life in order to lead a life of solitude and devotion as a hermit in Brittany. Legend has it that Gunthiern was granted land on the Isle of Groie near the River Blavet by the local lord, Grallon, with the intention of establishing a monastery....
