Saint Hugh of Lincoln, also known as Hugh of Avalon, Hugh of Burgundy, and Hew, was born in 1135 at Avalon Castle in Burgundy, France. He was the son of William, Lord of Avalon, and his mother Anna passed away when he was just eight years old. After her death, Hugh was raised and educated at a convent in Villard-Benoit, France....
