Saint Jeanthéophane Vénard, born on 21 November 1829 in Saint-Loup, diocese of Poitiers, France, was raised in a pious family. His eldest brother became a priest, while another brother later became the bishop of Poitiers. Saint Jeanthéophane Vénard himself had a strong desire to serve God and felt called to the priesthood....
