Saint Joseph Marchand was born on 17 August 1803 in Passavant, Doubs, within the diocese of Besancon, France. He began his vocation as a seminarian in Orsan in 1821 and eventually became a priest. His dedication to his faith led him to study at the prestigious Paris Society of Foreign Missions, where he honed his skills and knowledge for the purpose of becoming a missionary....
