Saint Louis IX, also known as Louis Capet and the Most Christian King, was born on 25 April 1214 in Poissy, France. He was the son of King Louis VIII and Blanche of Castile. At the age of eleven, Louis became the King of France and the Count of Artois. Due to his young age, his mother, Blanche, ruled as regent until he reached the age of 22. Once he assumed full power, he reigned for an impressive 44 years....
