Saint Maurus of Cesena, also known as Maur or Mauro, was born in Rome, Italy. He was the nephew of Pope John IX, which likely influenced his early exposure to the Catholic faith. Eventually, Saint Maurus became a priest and devoted himself to a life of religious service. Saint Maurus joined the Benedictine order and became a monk at the Classe monastery in Ravenna, Italy....
