Saint Peter Claver, also known as Pedro Claver Corberó, was born on 25 June 1581 in Verdu, Catalonia, Spain. He came from a humble background as the son of farmers but displayed exceptional academic ability. After completing his early education, he went on to study at the prestigious University of Barcelona. At the age of 20, Peter Claver joined the Society of Jesus, commonly known as the Jesuits....
