Saint Peter the Apostle, also known as Cephas, was a professional fisherman and the brother of Saint Andrew the Apostle. It was Andrew who introduced Peter to Jesus, and Peter became one of the closest and most prominent disciples of Jesus. In fact, Jesus renamed him "Peter," which means "rock," to indicate that Peter would be the rock-like foundation on which the Church would be built....
