Saint Petronius of Bologna, also known as Petronius Vescovo or Petronius the Bishops, was born in Gaul, the son of a Praetorian Prefect. It is believed that he may have served as a Roman official before dedicating his life to the Church. In his youth, Saint Petronius embarked on a pilgrimage to the Holy Lands and spent time with the ascetics in Palestine....
