Saint Rose of Lima, also known as Isabel, was born on April 20, 1586, in Lima, Peru. She was the daughter of Spanish immigrants who had settled in the New World. From a young age, Rose demonstrated exceptional beauty and piety. She was deeply devoted to her vow of chastity and went to great lengths to deter suitors....
