Saint Rufus of Rome, a devoted disciple of Christ, is commemorated for his steadfast witness during the persecution of Emperor Trajan (reigned 98–117 AD). According to tradition, he was brought to Rome alongside the venerable Saint Ignatius of Antioch and Saint Zosimus, who were themselves imprisoned and transported to the city as part of the imperial crackdown on the Christian community....
