Saint Theobald, also known as Teobaldo, Theobaldus, Thibaud, Thibaut, and Thibault, was born in 1017 in Provins, Brie, France, to the noble Count Arnold of Champagne. From a young age, he showed great piety and devotion, becoming inspired by reading the lives of the saints, particularly those of the hermits and cenobites in the desert of Thebaid....
