Saint Theodore of Sykeon, also known as Theodore of Sikion, Theodore the Sykeote, Theodore of Siceone, or Teodoro il Siceota, was born in the town of Sykeon, Galatia, to pagan parents named Mary and Cosmas. His father served as an imperial messenger, and as a young boy, Theodore was exposed to the ascetic life of the desert monks which fascinated him....
