Biography
In the rugged borderlands where the arid plains of Syria meet the highlands of modern-day Türkiye, the spiritual landscape was once dotted with solitary figures seeking the divine amidst the silence of the desert. Among these witnesses to the faith was a man known for his profound withdrawal from worldly affairs, a hermit whose life became a testament to the power of asceticism. He is remembered as Julian, an ascetic whose devotion earned him a moniker that spoke of wisdom and endurance: Sabas, meaning "old."
