Saint Mateo Correa Magallanes

Mateo Correa Magallanes was born on July 23, 1866, at Tepechitlán, Zacatecas, Mexico. He received a scholarship to attend the seminary in Zacatecas and was ordained as a priest in 1893 at the age of 27. As a young priest, he served as a parish priest in Concepción del Oro from 1898 until 1908, when he was reassigned to Colotlán.
