Biography

Mauro Emanuel Icardi Rivero (born February 19, 1993) is an Argentine professional footballer renowned for his prowess as a striker. His career began at the youth teams of Vecindario and La Masia, the famed youth academy of Barcelona. In 2012, he joined Serie A club Sampdoria, where he made his professional debut. Icardi quickly rose to prominence after an impressive season with Inter Milan in 2013, being named captain at age 22. He has since become one of the most prolific strikers in Europe, winning the Capocannoniere twice and leading Inter to their first UEFA Champions League appearance in six years. His achievements include a domestic treble with Paris Saint-Germain and a Süper Lig title with Galatasaray. Icardi also made his senior debut for Argentina in 2013 but played sparingly until 2018, earning eight caps and scoring once.
