Moses the Black, also known as Moses the Strong and Moses the Robber, was a Nubian ascetic hieromonk in Egypt during the fourth century AD. Born around 330, he lived a life of crime before converting to an ascetic lifestyle. He is celebrated for his transformation from a criminal to a holy man dedicated to spiritual pursuits.
