Biography

Saint Adalgis of Novara, also known as Adalgisio or Adalgiso, was a prominent figure in the 9th century as a member of the court of Emperor Lothair I of the Franks and later as the Bishop of Novara, Italy. While not much is known about his early life, it is believed that he was born around the year 800. Adalgis served as a trusted advisor to Emperor Lothair I and held a prominent position in the imperial court. However, his true calling lied in the Church, and he eventually felt compelled to dedicate his life to serving God and spreading the teachings of Christianity. In recognition of his deep piety, Adalgis was consecrated as the Bishop of Novara around the year 830.
