Biography

Saint Albert of Montecorvino, also known as Alberto di Montecorvino, was born in Normandy, modern France. As a child, he was taken to Pietra Montecorvino in Apulia, Italy, where he would spend the majority of his life. Little is known about his early years and family background. In his early adulthood, Albert became a devout follower of the Catholic faith and dedicated his life to serving God and the Church. He was ordained a bishop and earned a reputation for his piety and devotion. As he grew older, however, he began to lose his eyesight, eventually becoming blind. Despite his physical impairment, Albert was known for experiencing divine visions and was attributed with the ability to perform miracles. Even in his blindness, he continued to guide and inspire those around him with his unwavering faith and spiritual insight.
