Biography
Saint Bruno of Ebsdorf, Duke of Saxony, is venerated as one of the Martyrs of Ebsdorf. Born into the nobility of Saxony, he held the title of Duke and led the Saxon army during a pivotal conflict in the early 10th century. His vocation, though rooted in temporal leadership, became profoundly spiritual through his unwavering fidelity to the Christian faith amidst violent persecution. In the year 955, Duke Bruno and his entire contingent of soldiers faced the forces of the Magyars (Hungarians) near the village of Ebsdorf, a site of significant strategic and religious importance.
