Biography

Saint Didacus of Alcalá, born in Alcalá de Henares, Spain, was drawn from youth to the solitary life, supporting himself through the humble craft of weaving mats. After embracing the Franciscan way, he joined the lay brothers at the convent of Arizafa, where his profound spiritual wisdom, despite lacking formal education, made him a sought-after guide. In 1442, he journeyed as a missionary
