His story begins in the sun-drenched hills of San Stefano Quisquina, where he entered the world on the first of November in 1598. His intellectual formation was as extensive as his geographical travels. To prepare for the demands of the Church, he pursued theological studies in Palermo, Italy, before seeking the renowned academic prestige of Salamanca, Spain. This deepening of his scholarship fortified his commitment to the Dominican vocation, grounding his future missionary zeal in solid theological understanding. From the university halls of Salamanca, he emerged not merely as a scholar, but as a vessel ready to be poured out for the sake of the Gospel.
