Saint Ida of Cologne, daughter of Count Palatine Erenfrid of Lorraine and Matilda, was born into a family of profound ecclesiastical and royal influence. Her siblings included Archbishop Hermann II of Cologne, Queen Richeza of Poland, and Abbess Theofano of Essen, reflecting the deep Christian commitment that shaped her early life. Following a path of devotion, Saint Ida entered religious life as a nun.
