Biography

Saint Modwenna, also known as Edna or Modwen, was a renowned figure in Catholic history. She was born in the 9th century in Ireland, and her life was defined by her extraordinary devotion to God and her commitment to a life of sanctity. Modwenna was born into a royal family, and as a princess, she enjoyed a life of wealth and privilege. However, she felt a deep calling from God and decided to renounce her position and worldly possessions. She chose to devote her life to serving God and His people by becoming a nun. Modwenna's decision to enter the religious life was met with both admiration and skepticism. Many were inspired by her dedication and selflessness, but others questioned why she would turn her back on a life of comfort and luxury.
