Saint Prosdocimus of Padua, also known as Prosdecimus, Prosdocimo, or Prosdozimus, was the first bishop of Padua, Italy. He is a revered figure in Catholicism and is celebrated for his significant contributions to the Christian faith. Little is known about Prosdocimus' early life and background. However, historical records indicate that he was baptized by Saint Peter the Apostle, who later appointed him as the bishop of Padua. This significant position placed Prosdocimus at the forefront of spreading Christianity in the region. As bishop, Prosdocimus dedicated his life to evangelizing the people of Padua and the surrounding areas. He tirelessly preached the Gospel, converted many to Christianity, and established a strong Christian community. One of his notable disciples was Saint Daniel of Padua, who served him as a deacon.
