Saint Stephen of Africa Saint Stephen of Africa, also known as Stephen the Martyr, was an early Christian saint who was martyred in North Africa. Unfortunately, due to the limited surviving historical records, very little is known about his life and background. However, his courageous witness of faith and martyrdom have inspired countless believers throughout the ages. Saint Stephen's exact birth date and place are unknown, but it is believed that he was born in North Africa during the early years of Christianity. He lived during a time when persecution against Christians was rampant, particularly under the Roman Empire. Despite the dangers and risks involved, Stephen embraced his faith wholeheartedly and became a devoted follower of Jesus Christ.
It is believed that Saint Stephen actively participated in his local Christian community, spreading the teachings of Jesus and offering support to fellow believers.
