Saint Symmachus of Capua, also known as Símaco, Simbrico, Simmaco, Simmio, or Simo, was born in the late 4th century into a distinguished imperial Roman senatorial family. Little is known about his early life, but his spiritual journey led him to become the Bishop of Capua, Italy, around the year 430. As the Bishop of Capua, Saint Symmachus played a crucial role in the development and growth of the Christian community in the region. He dedicated himself to the pastoral care of his flock, offering guidance, support, and spiritual nourishment to his congregation. Saint Symmachus was known for his holiness and humility, inspiring many by his virtuous way of life.
