Blessed Henri Vergès, also known as Enric Vergés, was born on 15 July 1930 in Matemale, Pyrénées-Orientales, France. From an early age, he received his education from the Marist Brothers of the Schools, beginning his studies at the age of 12 in Espirá de l’Aglí and later in Saint-Paul-Trois-Châteaux, both located in France.
