Blessed Pedro Romero Espejo, a Redemptorist priest in the diocese of Cuenca, Spain, was born on April 28, 1871, in Pancorbo, Burgos. His dedication to his faith and his selfless service to others would eventually lead him to martyrdom during the tumultuous Spanish Civil War.
