Blessed Ubaldo Adimari, also known as Ubaldo da Borgo San Sepolcro, was born around 1245 in Florence, Italy, into a noble family. He grew up in a time of political and martial conflicts between the Guelphs and the Ghibellines, as well as power struggles between the Pope and the emperor of Germany. Ubaldo, being of a tall stature, chose a life as a soldier and became involved in these conflicts.
