Blessed Ulrika Fransiska Nisch, also known as Fransiska Dettenrieder and Ulrica Nisch, was born on 18 September 1882 in Oberdorf-Mittelbiberach, Germany. She was the oldest of eleven children born to Ulrich Nisch, a stable cleaner, and Klothilde Dettenrieder, a servant in a village inn. Due to their extreme poverty, their families and local authorities initially refused to allow their marriage....
