Pope Saint Vitalian, also known as Vitalianus, was born in Segni, Campania, Italy, although not much is known about his early life and family, besides being the son of Anastasius. He rose to prominence after being elected as the 76th Pope of the Catholic Church in 657. During his pontificate, Pope Vitalian faced constant conflicts with the patriarchs and leaders of the Eastern Church....
