Saint Wenceslaus

Wenceslaus I, also known as Václav [ˈvaːtslaf], was Prince (kníže) of Bohemia from 921 until his probable death in 935. According to legend, he was assassinated by his younger brother Boleslaus the Cruel. His martyrdom and the popularity of several biographies led to his reputation for heroic virtue, resulting in his sainthood.
