Saint Appian of Caesarea, born into a wealthy and prominent non-Christian family in Caesarea, was the brother of Saint Aedesius of Alexandria. Well-educated in rhetoric, philosophy, and civil law at Beirut, Lebanon, he embraced Christianity and became a devoted disciple.
