Saint Bertha of Kent, also known as Bertha of the Merovingians, Aldeberge, or Berta, was born in 539 in modern-day France. She was the daughter of King Charibert and Queen Ingoberga, both of whom were devout Christians. Bertha grew up in a pious family and was taught the principles of the Catholic faith from an early age. In the year 560, Bertha was married to King Ethelbert of Kent, who was a pagan at the time....
