Saint Catherine of Palma, also known as Catherine Tomas or Catalina, was born on May 1, 1533, in Valldemossa, Mallorca, Spain. She had a difficult and unhappy childhood, orphaned and raised by her paternal uncle who provided her with limited care and support. Despite her circumstances, Catherine felt a divine calling to the religious life at the tender age of 15....
