Saint Donatus of Ripacandida, also known as Donatello or Donato, was born into a humble and impoverished family in the year 1179 in Ripacandida, a small village in the diocese of Rapallo, Italy. He was named after his patron saint, Donatus of Arezzo, an early Christian martyr. From an early age, Donatus showed a deep devotion to God and a strong desire to serve Him....
