Saint Francis Caracciolo, also known as Ascanio Pisquizio and Francesco Caracciolo, was born on October 13, 1563, into a noble family in Villa Santa Maria, Abruzzi, Italy. He came from a distinguished lineage, being related to Saint Thomas Aquinas and the princes of Naples. From an early age, Francis enjoyed the pursuit of hunting. However, at the age of 22, Francis was struck by a leprous-like disease....
